The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), demanded this Wednesday (16) that Petrobras review the readjustment of the price of fuel announced last week. The MP repeated a request from President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) this Tuesday (15) and cited the drop in the international value of a barrel of oil.
“The barrel is going up and we are going up. The barrel is going down and we are not going down? It is important that Petrobras takes the price out of the increase it gave. Because the dollar is going down and the barrel is going down, so there is two components that make up the political price of Petrobras,” Lira said.
Last week, the public company announced the readjustment of 18.8% in gasoline, 24.9% in diesel and 16.1% in cooking gas. “We hear that in the last few days the price of oil abroad has come down a lot. We expect Petrobras to follow the drop in prices abroad. It certainly will,” Bolsonaro said on Tuesday.
The speaker of the Chamber preferred not to comment on the management of the president of Petrobras, Joaquim Silva e Luna. “I can’t assess it, I don’t have the internal Petrobras vision, I don’t have the internal Petrobras relationship. The only criticism I made was really that Petrobras wouldn’t have needed increase in size she did all at once,” he pointed out.
