Águas do Brasil wins block 3 of Cedae for 2.2 billion reais at auction

On Wednesday (29), the company Águas do Brasil won block 3 of the National Water and Wastewater Company of Rio de Janeiro (Cedae) for an amount of 2.2 billion reais. The minimum bid was 1.16 billion reais, i.e. the proposal had a 90% premium. The auction took place at B3 in São Paulo. The concessionaire will provide water distribution and wastewater collection services to 2.7 million residents in 21 municipalities in Rio de Janeiro, in addition to the western neighborhoods of the state capital. The concession period will be 35 years, with investment prospects of 4.7 billion reais.
