Bolsonaro cuts taxes on video games for third time

President Jair Bolsonaro reduced this Wednesday (11) the collection of the tax on industrialized products (IPI) on games and electronic accessories. According to the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, the estimate is that the reduction in revenue will be 82.9 million reais in 2021. The information was published by Folha de S. Paulo.

The tariffs levied on consoles and video machines go from 30% to 20%. As for parts and accessories of video game consoles and machines whose images are reproduced on the screen, the variation will be 22% to 12%. The IPI license fee on video games with on-board screens is reduced from 6% to 0%. In 2022, the tax cut is expected to be 119.5 million reais.
