President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) signaled this Monday (21) that he can grant a salary readjustment to the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and asked to understand the other categories that may not receive an increase this year. The President participated in the launching ceremony of Agenda Brasil para Todos, by the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights and by the Government Secretariat, at the Palácio do Planalto.
During the event, the president called the superintendents of the PRF in front of the pulpit where he was and said that the category should be valued. “[A PRF] It is a serious institution, like others that we have in Brazil, but it really does an exceptional job for our society and we must value these professionals. I hope society will understand that this needs to be done,” Bolsonaro said.
The government is facing discontent from several sectors of the civil service, after setting aside 1.7 billion reais in the 2022 budget to guarantee the readjustment of federal police officers. Faced with resistance, the executive has not yet formalized a readjustment to any category. Last week, the government sent a new draft to Congress asking for the approval of another R$ 1.7 billion for the payment of expenses with the servers.
“Whoever we can save, at the front we save, I hope for the understanding of the other categories, of the other servers in Brazil. What we want is to recognize the work of all and our Federal Highway Police is included in this role that deserves this recognition,” said the CEO.
