President Jair Bolsonaro has published an interim measure promoting adjustments in the collection of the contribution to the social integration and heritage training programs of civil servants (contribution to PIS/Pasep) and the contribution to the financing of social security (Cofins ) which are invoiced in the chain of production and marketing of ethanol. The text was published this Tuesday (15) in the Official Journal.

According to the government, the measure makes adjustments to the rules that allowed the direct sale of ethanol from the producer or importer to legal persons that are retailers, in particular to establish specific rules for direct sales made by cooperatives. In a note, the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic explained that the measures put in place have no tax impact, because they do not give rise to tax exemptions in the chain of production and marketing of the ethanol.
