President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) published on Thursday (2) a decree which regulates law 14.237 / 21, which establishes gas aid. The text details the rules necessary for the operationalization of the program, aimed at mitigating the effect of the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on the budget of low-income families. The edition of the decree allows the implementation of this month’s service.

The assistance will be granted to families registered in the Single Register of Social Programs (CadÚnico) whose monthly family income per capita is equal to or less than half the minimum wage and to families who have among their members beneficiaries of continuous money. Profit (BPC).

The law provides that assistance is preferably granted to families with women victims of domestic violence who are the subject of urgent protection measures. Beneficiary families will be entitled, every two months, to an amount equivalent to 50% of the average national reference price of the 13 kg bottle for the last six months. The reference price will be established by the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).

Bolsonaro also regulated the operation of Alimenta Brasil, a program to purchase food from family farmers, extractivists, artisanal fishermen, indigenous peoples and other traditional populations. The text also widens the limit of resources that each family or cooperative entity can receive from the government. With information from Agência Brasil.
