President Jair Bolsonaro signed this Wednesday morning (11) a provisional measure authorizing the direct sale of ethanol from production plants to service stations. The signing ceremony took place at the Planalto Palace in the presence of ministers Paulo Guedes, Bento Albuquerque and representatives of the sector. The project was championed by the federal government as an alternative to reduce fuel prices. Under the current rule, a gas station can only sell fuel from the supplier to which it is linked. With the MP, the sale of fuel will also be unlocked regardless of the brand the station is associated with. However, the consumer must always be informed. The measure takes effect immediately, but must pass through Congress within a maximum of 120 days.
