Caixa Econômica Federal and WhatsApp have signed a partnership to send messages on emergency aid. Beneficiaries of the program will receive messages from an official and verified Caixa account in the coming days with information on deposit, payment and withdrawal dates on their mobile phone.
According to the president of the bank, Pedro Guimarães, around 500 million free messages should be sent when paying the remaining installments of the service. People who receive help and whose mobile phone is registered in the Caixa Tem app will receive the information. The user will be able to activate or deactivate the reception of notifications.
WhatsApp’s public policy director on Facebook Brazil, Dario Durigan, stressed that the messages will be sent from an official Caixa account, verified on WhatsApp, and asked users to be vigilant to avoid falling into scams. “There will be no password or personal data request. Only information on aid will be sent, ”said the director of the application. With information from Agência Brasil.
