The President of the Central Bank (BC), Roberto Campos Neto, said on Thursday (12) that the institution will do everything in its power to keep inflation within the set targets. “We will use all existing instruments, if necessary, so that inflation is anchored in the medium and long term,” said Campos Neto, during his participation in the 33rd National Congress of the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel ).
According to him, the message aims to reassure the market on Brazil’s ability to maintain fiscal stability. “We understand that when British Columbia sent a harsher message on this, long-term implied inflation, which is closely related to fiscal perception, began to decline. This is why it is so important to send the message of budgetary credibility to economic agents, ”he said.
