Part of Jair Bolsonaro’s government team advised the president to extend emergency aid for another month, even though the Economy Ministry has taken a stand against the proposal, according to the O Globo newspaper. The forecast is that the profit ends in October. The new cycle would be financed by an extraordinary credit, outside the expenditure limit. The economic team believes that there is no longer a legal basis for new payments. For government officials, expanding emergency aid would have a positive impact on the president’s popularity, close to election year, as more people would benefit directly.
