In the absence of a federal public tender for three years, the government plans to hire 41,700 new employees in 2022, informed the Special Secretary for the Treasury and the Federal Budget, Bruno Funchal. He said the hiring will replenish the workforce that has retired or died in recent years, and is unrelated to the election year.

“We have a large volume [de vagas] for regulatory agencies and for the Ministry of Education, ”he said, citing studies carried out by the Management Secretariat of the Ministry of the Economy. The announcement was made on Tuesday (31) during the disclosure of the 2022 annual finance bill (Ploa).

Despite the forecast for the return of competitions, there is no forecast of readjustment for the federal civil service, said Funchal. However, he indicated that this could change if the payment of precatório (public debts definitively recognized by the Court) were approved by Congress, creating a space in the expenditure ceiling.
