The federal government will issue an interim measure (IP) to allow the sale of ethanol from producers directly to gas stations. According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the initiative aims to reduce the final cost of the price of ethanol at the pump. The information was published by the newspaper O Globo. The measure was a request from President Jair Bolsonaro.
The deputy’s signing ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday (11), at the Palácio do Planalto. Under the current rule, a gas station can only sell fuel from the supplier to which it is linked. With the MP, the sale of fuel will also be unlocked regardless of the brand the station is associated with. However, the consumer must always be informed.
