Home office had limited reach in Brazil, FGV points out

A study carried out by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) points out that at the height of the pandemic, the home office was adopted by 10% of workers in the country, mainly concentrated in wealthy and urbanized areas such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro. and Brasilia. About half of the staff working remotely in November 2020 were in these three units of the federation.

According to the foundation, the home’s poor infrastructure in other areas, whether for equipment or internet access, has limited remote working in the North and Northeast.
