Inflation projections in 2021 fell for the fourth week in a row, to 10.01%, according to the Focus Report, a set of forecasts compiled by banks, brokers and consultants and compiled by the Central Bank. The official inflation figure for last year will be released on the 11th, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
As for last year’s GDP, expectations fell for the 12th week in a row, to 4.5%. The official number will not be known until March 4. For 2022, projections assume growth of 0.36% of GDP. The midpoint (median) of the inflation forecast this year is 5.03%. In exchange, the projection is that on December 31, the rate will be R $ 5.60 and the Selic will end the year at 11.5%.
