Petrobras signs contract to sell Amazonas refinery for R $ 1 billion

On Wednesday (25), Petrobras signed a contract for the sale of the Isaac Sabba (REMAN) refinery, in Manaus (AM), with the Atem group. The transaction will amount to US $ 189.5 million (R $ 994.15 million) and will still need to be approved by regulatory bodies. The refinery is the second of eight refineries currently being sold to have signed the contract. The first was Landulpho Alves (RLAM) in Bahia. “The REMAN divestment process, approved by the Petrobras Board of Directors on that date, strictly followed the divestment system approved by the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU). The proposed sale of the refinery has been approved in all of Petrobras’ corporate governance bodies, ”the company said in a press release. After the sale of the eight refineries, in accordance with the commitment signed with CADE, Petrobras should remain the largest refiner in the country, with a refining capacity of 1.15 million barrels per day.
