Projections for 2022 GDP fell for the third week in a row, according to the Central Bank (CB) Focus report. The midpoint (median) of the forecast is 0.28%, down from 0.36% last week. The Selic, the base interest rate, fell from 11.5% per annum to 11.75%. And those for inflation remained stable at 5.03%.

For 2023, inflation and GDP expectations have fallen. Banks, brokerage houses and consulting firms are reporting a 3.36% price hike next year, up from 3.41% last week. And 1.70% for economic growth, against 1.8% the previous week. The Selic should end the year at 8% pa
