On Wednesday evening (18), the Senate approved a bill that provides tax incentives for companies that support research on Covid-19. The Covid-19 Pro-Research Priority Program guarantees corporate tax deduction for companies that donate funds for studies on the disease. Companies that are taxed on the basis of actual profits, a scheme adopted by large companies (with sales of over R $ 78 million), can participate in the project. Companies can deduct the IRPJ from the same amount as the donation within the limit of 30% of the tax due, without excluding other legal deductions. If the business is in the field of health or medicine, the limit will be 50% of the tax due. As there has been a change in the text, the PL returns for further analysis to the Chamber of Deputies.
