A survey of small and micro-entrepreneurs in the service sector shows that managers are confident they will be able to hire new people in the next three months. The economic survey on micro and small enterprises, carried out by the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae) and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) indicates that 17.3% of these entrepreneurs plan to increase their workforce by during the next quarter. This is the best result since October 2013. The Confidence Index for Micro and Small Business Services (MPE-Services) also saw a significant increase of 4.1 points in July, reaching 96.3 points, the best result since January 2020, months before the pandemic. According to Sebrae, the renewed confidence in the service sector is directly linked to the pace of vaccination against Covid-19 in the country and the reduction in the number of cases of the disease.
