Bill (PL) 2.337 / 2021, which changes the rules of income tax (IR), must be voted on between Tuesday (10) and Thursday (12) by the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies. The case, which is being dealt with urgently, is the 23rd item on the agenda of the week at the Casa.
At the end of Monday afternoon (9), the rapporteur of the project, MP Celso Sabino (PSDB-PA) was in a meeting with the Minister of the Economy, Paulo Guedes. Last week, the emergency regime for the treatment of the bill, which eliminates the need for a committee analysis of the text, was approved by 278 votes in favor and 158 against.
The PL deals with several aspects of income tax, including a reduction of up to 12.5 percentage points in corporate income tax (IRPJ), the readjustment of the income tax scale for natural persons (IRPF), with the widening of the exemption range for income up to R $ 2.5 thousand per month, taxation of profits and dividends, in addition to changes in the rules for taxing earnings on investments in fixed and variable income.
