One of the largest expenditures in the federal budget, spending for civil servants has seen a real decline over the past 12 months, excluding inflation, according to data from the National Treasury. According to the agency, spending reached 339.4 billion reais in the past 12 months, ending in June, up from 345 billion reais during the same period in 2020.
