The trading dollar closed the trading session on Friday (26) up 0.54%, listed at R $ 5.5948 for sale. The result follows the general slump in international markets after the announcement of a new variant of Covid-19, called Ômicron. In the cumulative result of the week, the dollar registered a decline of 0.24%.
The Ibovespa, the main index of the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3), plunged 3.39% to 102,224 points. At the lowest recorded during the session, it reached 101,495 points. Concerns over the new variant, which originated in South Africa, have directly affected airlines. Shares of Gol and Azul fell more than 10%, as did those of tour operator CVC.
